Welcome to Christian Fellowship International

The Name and Purpose

The Fellowship aims to build the body of Christ, to be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit, to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, to live according to the principles in the Word of God and to equip its members for service, ministry and mission. It acknowledges the uniqueness of individuals and groups and aspires to encourage the unity and cooperation of all Christian churches through understanding, reconciliation, love and acceptance.

The One Catholic and Apostolic Church

The Fellowship is part of the one universal and Apostolic Church. It acknowledges the diversity of all churches in their doctrines, organizations and ministries but believes and bears witness to the Unity of faith and life in Jesus Christ. The Fellowship looks to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the formulation of its theology and ministry for the extension of God’s Kingdom.

The Authority of the Bible

The Fellowship believes that the Bible is God’s inspired Word, which is authoritative and the trustworthy guide for the life of all Christians.

The Lordship of Jesus Christ

The Fellowship is built upon the one Lord, Jesus Christ. Christ is the risen Lord and Saviour, Creator and Sustainer. Through Jesus, God was and is reconciling the whole world to Himself. Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, believers are saved from their sins. This is the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit

The Fellowship believes in the Holy Spirit, the third member of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). The power of the Holy Spirit can be personally experienced by an individual and in congregational life. We acknowledges the baptism of the Holy Spirit; and also believe in the fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Worship & Fellowship

The Fellowship acknowledges that there are many methods and forms of worshipping God. It encourages its members to worship God in spirit and in truth through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Fellowship encourages its members to gather together to Worship.

The Fellowship recognizes the importance and usefulness of fellowship in the name of Jesus Christ. Its members gather together regularly to study the Bible, pray, fast and share their experiences for group and personal encouragement so that every Fellowship member will be empowered to witness Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Sacraments

The Fellowship acknowledges that the Gospel is proclaimed through Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Infant dedication and believer’s baptism with immersion are practiced in the Fellowship. Infant dedication marks the beginning of a child’s membership of the Christian Fellowship and whose instruction and nourishment in the faith the Fellowship takes responsibility. Believer’s baptism is a public acknowledgement of faith in Jesus Christ.

The Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion

This symbolizes the presence of Christ with His people. The breaking of bread and sharing of the wine signifies the broken body and outpoured blood of Jesus. It is the celebration of the people’s deliverance from their sins and marks the beginning of a renewed life. The celebration of the Holy Communion is a remembrance of the birth, work, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who gives new life to the world. Communion is commanded by Jesus to remember Him (who He is and why He came to earth) and to renew our fellowship with Him. This should be administered at every opportunity.

Christian Stewardship

The Fellowship recognizes and emphasizes the importance of Christian Stewardship and expects all its members to practice it as part of their responsibility and commitment to God. It is a source of blessings and spiritual empowerment to the believers. Christian Stewardship demonstrates our love for God and is expressed through the following ways:
  • A walk of obedience
  • Loving God and others
  • Preservation and conservation of the integrity of God’s creation
  • Transparency of our life and work
  • Accountability to God, the church and the people we serve
  • A life of service with honesty and integrity
  • Good governance in the Fellowship and in the family
  • Due diligence with all earthly possessions
  • Tithing on all income
  • Being hospitable towards all others
  • Caring for the widows and orphans.

Justification by Faith

The Fellowship recognizes the importance of obedience and service but people are saved by the of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He first loved us and gave Himself for us who were quite unworthy of His love. God’s is freely given to His people.

Gifts of the Spirit

The Fellowship affirms that every member has gifts and these gifts have corresponding services or ministries for example: healing, evangelism, teaching, preaching, counseling and singing. The Fellowship recognizes these gifts that God bestows upon believers, both men and women, entrusted to fully exercise their gifts in the Fellowship. All members of the Fellowship are the priesthood of believers and are God’s partners in His ministry. The Holy Spirit supplies His gifts to His people and these gifts are for the nurturing and growth of the Body.

Members

The Fellowship recognizes and accepts all infants who have been dedicated as the beginning of their membership. The Fellowship will also accept those who have already received the same dedication transferring from other Christian denominations. All members of the Fellowship should be baptised. New members will be prepared through induction to be accepted into the Fellowship.

Pastors, Lay Leaders

The Fellowship through the guidance of the Holy Spirit will appoint, train and ordain gifted and resourceful men and women who have demonstrated their walk with God, their calling and commitment to become either Pastors or Lay Leaders. These servants of the Fellowship will serve full time, part time or voluntarily depending on the circumstances. They will be recognized and supported by the Fellowship.

Government in the Fellowship

The Fellowship recognizes its accountability to its members, to the nation and to God through good governance in its organisation. The Fellowship belongs to God and members are accountable to its leadership. The Fellowship will organize itself to best serve the needs and requirements of its members. The Constitution will make provision for the following organizations as required:
  • The congregation
  • The Elders’ meeting and
  • The National Assembly

Laws and Regulations

The Fellowship recognizes the value of having a Constitution and the Assembly will be empowered to make changes, amendments and formulate new policy and regulation, dependent on the Holy Spirit. The Constitution is a guideline for the Churches of the Assembly.
